  • Ingredients

    • 1 pork shank
    • 10 g ginger, finely chopped
    • 7 to 8 shitake mushrooms
    • 50 g diced carrot
    • 50 g diced onion
    • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sugar
    • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    • Sambal Oelek, to taste
    • 1 bay leaf
    • Some whole black peppercorns
    • Chicken broth

    Preparation

    • Fill a Mason style glass jar of 500 ml capacity to the rim with the ingredients. Fill with chicken broth to the rim. Place lid, close and shake.
    • Place in a big pot of boiling water covering the jar up to the rim and let cook for 75 minutes. After the cooking time, take the pot out using tongs and let cool.

    *The measurements and quantities are approximate as the goal is to fill the pot.
