Shepherd’s Pie

  • Ingredients

    • 100 g ground beef
    • 1/2 diced onion
    • 20 g sliced leek
    • 50 g whole kernel corn
    • 60 g diced potatoes
    • ¾ cup (180 ml) chicken broth
    • A knob of butter
    • Salt and pepper
    • A sprig of thyme


    • Brown meat and onion in a skillet. Allow to brown properly.
    • Place the ingredients in a Mason style glass jar of 500 ml capacity. Cover with chicken broth. Place the lid and close.
    • Place in a big pot of boiling water covering the jar up to the rim and let cook for 1 hour. After the cooking time, take the pot out using tongs and let cool.

    *The measurements and quantities are approximate as the goal is to fill the pot.
